Why Nemo?

First Why Boston? Why did we move from a perfectly good home in New York to Boston? That reminds me of the following question.

Q: Why jump out of a perfectly good airplane with a parachute?
A: The thrill!

For us Boston is inspiring.  Inspiring is a word usually reserved for people. A city that inspires is like having a blanket of passion surrounding you 24/7. The city has a wonderful mix of American history and a healthy high tech scene. We could talk for hours about the food, culture, education, and traffic but recommending cities is much like recommending restaurants or cars.

Why Nemo? We spent much of January and February of 2013 looking for something we could transform into a home. After multiple rejected offers above asking and usually for cash we were becoming a bit depressed. The winter storm Nemo left Boston under several feet of snow. At the same time an open house for a condo in the  South End  was announced. We trudged through the snow (1.3 miles), to the open house, immediately fell in love with the location and house. Put in an offer and crossed our fingers. The snow of Nemo apparently deterred  many people from seeing the property, and our offer was accepted. A few days later under better conditions we went back to see what we had purchased. Every corner of the house and neighborhood exceeded our dreams.
