Spotlight

The bar at the Taj Hotel.

The bar "where everybody knows your name" is 2 blocks down from the Taj, but we recommend you pass and go straight to the Taj. Bars come in many flavors, sports bars, local pubs and grand dames of a bygone era. This is more the latter. With large windows that outlook onto Arlington, its a great people watching venue. You of course can eat here as well. Cindy recommends the Kobe burger, while I've settled on the clam chowder. As for drinks the sky is the limit, but when you are at an establishment that is channelling the turn of the century decor, pick a matching cocktail. The Sazerac, is perfect any evening. We stopped here on our way back from the open house at Nemo. The wait staff was held up at the Taj overnight, and the waiter who had been there for more than 30 years greeted us with a smile as if we were old friends.
Here is a shot of Cindy's boots drying by the fire the night of Nemo.
