JFK Library and Museum

Just over the harbor from us sits a gem of a museum. The view above is looking back on the city. The JFK Library and Museum hosts several original pieces of memorabilia of JFK, Jackie, and Bobby. The walking tour and films give a history of this iconic man from Boston. The motivation of our trip today was the Hemingway exhibition.

If you have not read from this American Nobel prize winner, I highly recommend any of the novels or short stories. The exhibition showed many of his original drafts and all the corrections. The last page of Farewell to Arms had 39 rewrites. Apparently to get the words right. Again, at the core of all great people is hard work. Most of his manuscripts are housed here because JFK arranged for Hemingway's widow to travel to Cuba to collect his treasures.

Apparently it is easy to write like Hemingway, just follow these rules.

Even though they never met, both men were moved by the suffering of war that they each personally experienced.

Some of our favorite quotes

We will be back.
